At the centre of every Zebra Tatami Yoga Mat is a 100% recycled, multi-density, open-cell foam with a proprietary adhesive process. Because the foam is open-cell, it is completely climate stable – meaning your mats will not expand or contract with temperature changes; additionally, they reduce noise pollution.
On the exterior, every Zebra Tatami Yoga Mat is surfaced and edged with a reinforced, closed-cell vinyl that is internationally certified as phthalate-free and has received an antimicrobial treatment to help prevent the growth of microorganisms. The corners are hand-finished to ensure a moisture-proof seam at each, and the underside is completed by a natural rubber anti-skid surface, which helps to hold each mat in place.
In yoga schools and studios, the mats support steady movement through Sun Salutations and an exploration of arm balances and inversions. They offer enough cushioning for the occasional fall and an optimal space for releasing deeply into a Surrender Series or Yin Yoga experience.
